Maybelline falsies in Triple Dipper. The Galactic nailporn goddess look...

Hey there!

It's been *ages* since I last posted... in fact, I think this one is the first free weekend that I've had in around 10 weeks. I am not complaining though, I've been doing productive stuff like writing an article on a subject no one cares about or preparing for a big trial that I think will make the local news. Yikes!

I have SO MANY projects though, and the big question is: will they see the light [of this blog]? Suspense..! What will surely, doubtlessly & definitely catch the light of your screen will be my purple hair. Soon. Very soon. I have already purchased two glorious shades of purple, and will dye my hair as soon as I leave the office towards those 3 amazing holiday weeks. It'll be around August, so stay tuned for this if it's something you consider losing a couple minutes of your lives with ;)

For now, I will show you what I wore yesterday at a birthday dinner :) First off, one of my two pairs of galaxy leggings. Best buy ever. And as I was in a rush because I had been a lazy bum all afternoon, I just glued on a set of falsies that I had been saving for such an occasion: Maybelline ColorShow false nails in Triple Dipper. Glorious neon nail porn, before your very eyes...
As I said, NEON! Admittedly this is a super fake look, but there's always a time where a girl likes to be crazy, or at least I know I do. Those have a considerable length but were very easy to apply, long-lasting and very comfortable. They come in all sorts of sizes and I had no problem whatsoever finding the correct ones for my piggies :) me likes that. They're not re-usable though, because once you lift them to take them off they will start deforming and flattening... so sad!

Not everything was in your face with me yesterday. I wore bed head, simple make-up, a very cute MAC lipstick (Chatterbox) and a very nice top that I bought off Sheinside to tone it all down...
Be bad & wonderful...

Mish Mash Challenge - Triangle. Pure Ice Wide Awake + new snake!

Hey y'all ;)

How are my girls? I am super EXCITED today! It has half to do with today's mani, and half with the news coming after the pictures..!

So yeah, I am pretty pleased with my take at freehanding straight lines. I don't know why I gave up being an architect after all, huh? Not knowing what a bearing wall is is nothing compared to being able to freehand straigh lines. But don't let me fool you though, 'cuz today's star is the a gorgeous polish Lisa sent my way: Pure Ice Wide Awake. Check out that shiny glitter!
And just when you thought you were in love with it... Something even cuter catches your attention:
Okay, snake haters: don't ruin my proud mommy moment :'( For the rest: ain't she the most adorable baby snake you've ever seen!? Sorry I am all over the place, but she just made me broke my commitment to myself and to The Boyfriend that I wouldn't buy anything alive at the annual reptile show. I have never been happier in my life to fail miserably at something.

She is a Vietnamese Beauty Snake (Elaphe Taeniura) and is one month old, aprox. She has quite an attitude at her young age and lets you know when she's not pleased by rattling her tail as if she was saying:
If any of you have a name suggestion, please feel free to let me know! I am looking for something feminine, yet poweful, and if possible reminding of blue (her future adult color).

Be sure to check the other challenge ladies' awesome manicures!

Mish Mash Challenge - Purple. Superficially Colorful Lacquer in GIGGLY!

Hello there!

The ladies behind the ABC Challenge could not (virtually) live without one another. It has been such a great way to get to know each other, the group has grown strong and... decided to concoct yet another challenge! I am happy to announce the start of the MISH MASH CHALLENGE! :)

Day 1: Purple.
My dear friend Jin from Superficially Colorful sent me a package with her Mood Swings collection, along with some other gorgeous goodies, which I received just before leaving for my week in France. To say that I was happy is an understatement; my neighbors were alarmed and my ceiling still shows some bumps... ;)

I thought today's topic was the perfect occasion to introduce Superficially Colorful Lacquer's Giggly, from the Mood Swings collection! This gorgeous polish shifts from dark purple to hot pink, and I have been absolutely in love with it since I put it on:
The formula, the jar and the brush were perfect. What you see are two coats of Giggly applied like butter and a coat of INM Out the Door. Here in Collioure the temperature is crazy hot so most of the time the mani looked like in the first and second pictures, with a subtle gradient.

Now, have you remarked I have changed my nail shape? I decided to try stiletto nails (sort of) for the holidays, and I adore them so far. They look fierce without being too aggressive, and they make my fingers look longer... The Boyfriend likes them, but prefers square or oval nails: yup, that means stilettos are ranked 3rd and last, as I've only tried those three nail shapes. Honestly now, what do YOU think about them? Yay or nay?

Whatever, they offer new nail art possibilities that I intend to take advantage of. Take a look of what I have taken with me for a single week away:
I might have been a little overboard... Considering we've traveled in a motorbike, just like last year, in all honesty I think there's more polish than clothes in my luggage... But of course, what we call summer clothes are just tiny teeny pieces of fabric, so I guess it's not that bad. Right?

Off-topic: here's what was written in the French August Cosmopolitan. Loose translation: "Use a base coat and two coats of red polish clumsily applied. The more we overflow the nail the better, this way we will not forget any bit. Then, use a Q-tip with polish remover to clean up the excess and a top coat".
Right. So this advice sits next to hair oils costing Eur. 30 that are supposed to make mine look like a mermaid's, yes? Oh well, let me see, I think you've lost ALL YOUR CREDIBILITY, Cosmo.

Feel free to think crap about their advice from now on, and take care!

New Year's Eve - 1st post of the year.

Hello & happy 2013!

I hope you're not superstitious and are not looking at 2013 reluctantly and with a bad feeling, 'cuz that's not the best way to start the year ;) I mostly believe that what goes around comes around, karma and all that stuff. I am safe. Sort of.

I have to admit I had some trouble sticking to the Spanish tradition of swallowing 12 grapes, one for each stroke before midnight. I was laughing because I put 13 grapes on The Boyfriend's cup and right in the end he exclaimed "fack, I lost count!". In summary, I ended up with around 8 grapes on my mouth because I couldn't swallow quick enough. Hilarious, but I hope that won't make 2013 any shittier than it is already, potentially.

Enough bla bla, on to my simple make up for New Year's Eve; face washed and black liner. I swear I had some blush on, but here's the proof I have the skin of an undead.
As for the nails, I opted for a re-version of Dita Von Teese's nude half moons and added grey french tips. I used Anny Open my Heart (that somehow I always want to call Rip my Heart Open; yuck!) as a base and China Glaze Stone Cold for the tips. Fist picture is matte Stone Cold, next one is topped off with Poshé.
I matched my dress somehow :)
So again, special occasion makes me show my face in here not once, but twice! Happy new year, ladies! Take care!

IsaDora Beetle Green

Hey there!

It's awesome how time flies when you're doing nothing. But for once, I have the time and that makes me smile like a little kid. Or should I say it makes the kiddo inside of me smile? Never mind.

What I have for you today is IsaDora Beetle Green, and it's amazing. I love this kind of emerald greens, and surprizingly enough I have only one. Why? I don't know, maybe I was waiting for the perfect one ;) Anyhow, I find it most appropriate for the season, don't ya?
And today I went to the World Press Photo 2012 exposition with The Boyfriend, and enjoyed it a lot. I like art, and paintings are good. But photography is simply great. One picture caught my eye (and my slightly feminist heart): Inna Shevchenko is an Ukranian feminist who fights in top-less, she's provocative, she's bold, she's strong and she stands for a cause I can only acclaim: equality. Here's she:
I'll welcome 2013 in the same position if I remember to do so... What will you do when the clock strikes 00:01?

Happy new year & thank you, again.
