Hey y'all ;)
How are my girls? I am super EXCITED today! It has half to do with today's mani, and half with the news coming after the pictures..!
So yeah, I am pretty pleased with my take at freehanding straight lines. I don't know why I gave up being an architect after all, huh? Not knowing what a bearing wall is is nothing compared to being able to freehand straigh lines. But don't let me fool you though, 'cuz today's star is the a gorgeous polish Lisa sent my way: Pure Ice Wide Awake. Check out that shiny glitter!
And just when you thought you were in love with it... Something even cuter catches your attention:
Okay, snake haters: don't ruin my proud mommy moment :'( For the rest: ain't she the most adorable baby snake you've ever seen!? Sorry I am all over the place, but she just made me broke my commitment to myself and to The Boyfriend that I wouldn't buy anything alive at the annual reptile show. I have never been happier in my life to fail miserably at something.
She is a Vietnamese Beauty Snake (Elaphe Taeniura) and is one month old, aprox. She has quite an attitude at her young age and lets you know when she's not pleased by rattling her tail as if she was saying:
If any of you have a name suggestion, please feel free to let me know! I am looking for something feminine, yet poweful, and if possible reminding of blue (her future adult color).
Be sure to check the other challenge ladies' awesome manicures!
M.
Aww a friend for Discordia! Will they eventually share the same living space or do you have to keep them separated? Can't wait to see her adult coloring... the blue color sounds amazing. :) Your mani is awesome, by the way! I love the colors you used for it, and your lines are perfect... don't see how they can be any straighter even if you used a ruler. :D
ResponderEliminar~ Yun
Yay! Actually I don't want to have two snakes so I will have to re-home Discordia into a loving family ^^ They would need two different terrariums and it's not really feasible right now. Thanks for the compliments, honey! :D
EliminarYou freehanded those lines? You have mad crazy skills, they're perfect. And that glitter is lush!
ResponderEliminarYour snake is adorable! But all I can think of for names is 'Boadicea' because she was feminine and powerful...and her name rhymes with blue, haha...hope you find a good name!
:D Thank you! I was pretty pleased with myself! Boadicea is a romanian name? it rings a bell... I will keep it in mind!

Your nails are stunning and well done on those lines, they look perfect!
ResponderEliminarAnd your baby snake is gorgeous! I think snakes are beautiful and I wish people didn't hate them so much :( What about naming her after a shade of blue eg. Sapphire, Azure, Lapis lazuli, Tiffany, or Maya?
^^ Thank you girl! Awww I know I melt every time I see her! I wish people could find in their hearts to be more tolerant about people who keep 'em and love 'em... even if they hate snakes. There's no need to be judgemental all the time, you know what I mean?
EliminarThose names were on my list :p You nailed it!
Wow, these nails are so fabulous! I love the sparkle, and the lines are just amazing. And yiii, your new baby is so beautiful! For some reason the name Phedre springs to mind. No idea why. ;)
ResponderEliminar:D Thank you Elizabeth! Phedre was a forgotten name, which is just wird because I remember loving it back in the days. Will keep it in mind now!
EliminarWhat does Discordia think of her?
ResponderEliminarShe is a very loooooong baby LOL - congratulations :)
i love the mani, it fitsthe shape of your nails so well!
Poor Discordia... she doesn't know I will have to part with her because of the new baby... Thank you for the congratulations :D
EliminarWide Awake huh? I have that and as an untried.. =( Looks like it will soon not be.. Your freehand is perfect. I love this. And love your snake baby.. Best of luck with it.
ResponderEliminarTry it, girl! You'll love it, it's so blingtastic! :D Thank you!
Mil gracias! :D La verdad es que me duró apenas un día, porque al día siguiente ya era lunes :'( Sapira es un buen nombre!! Mil gracias!
EliminarDid you really freehanded the lines?!? Bravissima! Great and neat job!
ResponderEliminarI'd suggest Athena as a name for your new baby: I love Greek mithology and Athena is such a smart, wise and cool Goddess!
^^ thank you! I love being congratulated in italian :D it makes it even better! Thanks for the suggestion, I will keep it in mind!
EliminarWhoa, you freehanded those lines? They're amazing o.O Wide Awake is gorgeous! Hmm, I would say Athena seems too agreeable for your "nein, nein, nein" snake... maybe Hera?
ResponderEliminarYup! Thank you girl! :D And I agree with you on this, Hera might be better for my baby... Thanks!
EliminarYour nails instantly made me think of Barbarella which I think would be a great name for your new slithery baby.
ResponderEliminarI must admit I am one of those people that are terrified of snakes but only because we have a highly venomous variety down here in Oz that like to hang around our back shed all the time... :/
Amazing job on the nails M, those lines are spot on!
Barbarella! haha! It's a cool name! Oh no, terrified of snakes! I am sorry to hear that but as I see you have good reasons! Thanks!
EliminarLove, love, love your nails!! That glitter is fantastic!! Excellent design!
ResponderEliminarAnd I'm sorry, I'm with Chantelle on snakes. Probably cause I'm from Florida and we had a LOT of not friendly snakes. But congrats on your new baby!
^^ Thank you Dionne! :D Awww too bad there are snakes making bad reputation for all the others, but that's life. I understand :)
EliminarLOL, thanks for understanding ;)
EliminarShe is gorgeous! OMG *___*
ResponderEliminarA name.. hmm.. how about Meena? It means blue gem stone in indian (I think). But I'm not sure if it's feminine and strong enough xD
Oh snap, almost forgot your nail art :o The blue polish looks amazing! It sparkles and sparkles and I can't stop looking at it. You did a great job with the hand-painting, I think with the boarders the blue glitter stand out even more
:D Haaaaaa I know! I am such a proud mommy! Meena. Meena is so nice!
EliminarThank you for the compliments! In fact I added the borders because the glitter didn't contrast enough with the OPI base... and I needed a fix! It seems I found a good one!
Wow! What a gorgeous little lady <3 As much as I'm smitten with your newest family member, I am hugely in love with today's manicure! I can't believe that those lines were freehand work - incredible! :)
ResponderEliminar<3 Thank you, Liz! I am blushing!!
EliminarLove your nails! That blue is some kind of sparkly! I'm with Chantelle and Dionne on snakes, not a fan, but congrats on your new baby :)
ResponderEliminarThank you! It is sparkling! ^^
EliminarYou mean that gorgeous cutsie is gonna turn even more adorable? BLue you said - oh my!!! You know you'll have to show us, right? ;)
ResponderEliminarI bet that's why you paired it with such a vibrant blue mani, hey? hehehe And freehanding straight lines is the best way to make one's day :)
ps. these also kinda remind me of star wars or star trek or something (?)
It's the straight line pattern - it reminds me of space uniforms somehow ;)
It IS! Which is crazy..! Haha! I will show off of course :p
EliminarI hadn't thought of space uniforms but it's true! The pointy nails make for a spacecraft, right!?
You freehanded the lines! Oh wow! And that blue is amazing!
ResponderEliminarThank you, Simona! :D
EliminarThis is such a FABULOUS post. Between the hilarious copy, the amazing nail art (You do some crazy gorgeous freehand, my dear. OMG is the word, or acronym, as the case may be.), and the new member of the family, I'm blown away.
ResponderEliminarGlad you like the Pure Ice glitter. You made it fabu with this mani!
Little Elaphe is sooooo GORGEOUS (did you just hear the angels sing? i did!). What is the lifespan for a Vietnamese Beauty Snake? Can't wait to see her dressed in blue!
Squeeeeeeee! :)
Love ya,
L
WOW! What beautiful lines! And apparently it has been a while since I have had the chance to visit, you changed your nail shape again! I'm loving this shape!! So edgy and unique! ♥
ResponderEliminarOMG! Look at her enormous beautiful head! I love her, she's so cute!! Your nails are also adorable, but I'm afraid your baby girl stole this post right out from under you lol
ResponderEliminarOMG!!! I just read your reply to Yun and am totally shocked: you will re-home Discordia??? :-O Not sure I like that.
ResponderEliminarOther then that - she really is a true beauty and even after seeing her her again I cannot think of any other name but Bella. But then - I suppose I have my own associations with that name to make it so appropriate ;-)
That mani is also gorgeous and I cannot believe you freehanded such straight lines!! Like - WOW!!!!!
Ohh I haven't seen one like that, she is a beauty! Whoa, a baby snake yet she's quite a length! How many metres do they grow? I'm late in commenting, is she named yet? Would Benitoite be a good name? It's a blue gemstone :) But I'm seeing amazing name suggestions here already! ;D Aw, I hope Discordia finds a nice new family! :) Too bad they can't be together. Must be taxing on your side too to have both.
ResponderEliminarLove the blue mani btw! The colours is amazing and so sparkly!! So appropriate too, since its like a toast to the future of your Vietnamese Beauty Snake ^.^ You're so getting better and better at freehand these days! The lines are so straight I thought you used tape! :O Great job! ♥
Very futuristic looking mani! Love it - and your lines are amazingly straight! Jealous!!
ResponderEliminarAs far as your new baby, she is gorgeous. Can't wait to see photos as she grows up.
satta kingTwisting while you are lifting is dangerous because your muscles are straining and your spine is under pressure.
