New Year's Eve - 1st post of the year.

Hello & happy 2013!

I hope you're not superstitious and are not looking at 2013 reluctantly and with a bad feeling, 'cuz that's not the best way to start the year ;) I mostly believe that what goes around comes around, karma and all that stuff. I am safe. Sort of.

I have to admit I had some trouble sticking to the Spanish tradition of swallowing 12 grapes, one for each stroke before midnight. I was laughing because I put 13 grapes on The Boyfriend's cup and right in the end he exclaimed "fack, I lost count!". In summary, I ended up with around 8 grapes on my mouth because I couldn't swallow quick enough. Hilarious, but I hope that won't make 2013 any shittier than it is already, potentially.

Enough bla bla, on to my simple make up for New Year's Eve; face washed and black liner. I swear I had some blush on, but here's the proof I have the skin of an undead.
As for the nails, I opted for a re-version of Dita Von Teese's nude half moons and added grey french tips. I used Anny Open my Heart (that somehow I always want to call Rip my Heart Open; yuck!) as a base and China Glaze Stone Cold for the tips. Fist picture is matte Stone Cold, next one is topped off with Poshé.
I matched my dress somehow :)
So again, special occasion makes me show my face in here not once, but twice! Happy new year, ladies! Take care!

Sensual state of mind.

Hello there!

Long time no see, but the truth is, even if I am sorry to have been absent, I didn't want to post crap just to keep posting, you know? I've not been busier than normal, it's just that I've been a little down on inspiration and a good girl not buying polish... So whenever I had the time I just went for a plain manicure, most of the time featuring an already-posted polish. Hence the lack of posts. But I am back (for now), yay!

I have kept my habit to watch shitty programs off YouTube, and it's been the turn of "Hotter than my daughter" lately. It makes me laugh A LOT. But anyhow, true to myself I've also been quite autocritical. And my conclusion is that I've been hiding my body at work somehow. I dress lawyerly, but quite "average". Put simply: I have curves and they are barely noticeable in my "corporate outfit". But the truth is you can "show" some feminity without being vulgar at all, and even being classy. So I decided not to avoid tighter clothes anymore, and bought three dresses right away. Yup, you guessed right, I am a little straight-forward!

I'll wear my first tighter dress tomorrow, and I wanted nails that matched my state of mind, so I went for some Dita Von Teese inspired look. Nails-wise it's classy-classic without being boring. [Note: my new outfit is nothing like Dita Von Teese, don't worry.]
What do you think about these?
I used base coat and one coat of Anny Open my Heart (& reinforcement stickers). If I had to do it again I think I'd try to do the gaps smaller. But I'd need something else than reinforcement stickers for that, right? So I'll have to think about it or listen to your suggestions, if any :)
Let me know!

PS: Have you noticed I've changed the shape of my nails?  [Hurray if you did!] They're less squoval and more almond-like now. Yay or nay?

Fail mani. Episode 1.

Hao,

How's everything? We're lusting over Friday, right? Unavoidable.

I wanted to complete today's cycle and crown the day with a fail post. I like harmony, in everything. Fail or fly. But I ain't flyin' today.

That's a manicure I had high hopes in. I started with two coats of China Glaze liquid leather, and decided to go to an official English exam with it, having slept 4 hours. I don't know how I managed to pass, but I do remember the old owl I had as my examiner for the oral test. I think she didn't pay attention to anything I mentionned (share capital, right of first refusal and all that legal english chatter), she kept staring at my hands. At my nails. Either she was entering on a true zensation or she was deeply disapproving. Never mind; I passed.

Black was good but not really my cup of tea. So I decided to fuck it up and slapped one thick coat of pink over it, yay! And I didn't like it, so I kept insisting on having a true "yuck" manicure. You know, there are times when you see you're losing it and you can't help but keep on going. And slam your face on a wall. That's what happened. Metaphorically.
Oh! How about some pink rhinestones to finally kill the mani I had imagined? Well, how about some pink shut the fuck up?! [Hey babe!]
Have you realized even the colors of that first picture are pure distilled crap? 1 up.

Anyhow, what's done is done. And that has sure been joyfully removed!

See you,

M.

Half Moon manicure

Hey!

I had quite a tiresome week, so I absolutely needed to take some time off and work on a cool manicure to cheer me up for the weekend. And so I did Saturday morning :) I picked up Kiko nº 342 Verde Acqua and Chanel Péridot as playmates. The latter is courtesy of my BF, for he wanted my number 100 polish to be a present from him ^^
As you can guess, for I'm not that steady handed, I used regular reinforcement stickers. There are a hundred tutorials out there, however just let me know if you want me to do one specially for you, and I will do so very gladly.

And this morning I added those simple dots. I still don't know if I liked the manicure better without them or not...

Anyhow, I'm off to a new manicure. I need something transmitting strength and luck, for I have my yearly evaluation this next week, which will determine my (un) continuity in the firm. Big event, yeah.

Keep enjoying your weekend!
