Lola Make up Berrylicious - Fishtail nailart and Koi tattoo.

Hey there!

How are you doing? For my part, I have my eyes fixed on Friday, when I'll be on holidays for two entire weeks. I hardly know what to do with so much time, but I'll sort that out. I guess trying to tick some of the things I have on my To Do List will be fun. AND of course I will be out of Barcelona one week: escapade with The Boyfriend.
So that is the mani I wore last week at work (yeah I am daring like that). I used two coats of Lola Make Up in Berrylicious which has a gorgeous jelly finish, and then added Zoya Meg and China Glaze First Mate in the accent nails. That fishtail design can be done freehanding, but as I still suck at that I used two reinforcement stickers instead.

Here's a close up of Lola Make up bottle:
Great value for money, I think I had this on sale at half its price, so around Eur. 2. That color can stand on its own for sure, I just have this urge to avoid plain manis lately. It comes from within; the inner monster of the so called nail art, huh?

Oh, and before I leave I just wanted to show you what The Boyfriend did to me:
I love Koi fishes, and if I was bold enough I would definitely get a whole back tattoo with them. I would also have to figure out how to include a little Ganesh on it, ya' know the indian divinity. The thing is... I have a hate relationship with things "forever". It's not about commitment, don't get me wrong. It's about reality. Things just end up in nothing, broken. So why pretend it is not so? (Yeah, I am sure a shrink would find a lot of smart inputs about my personality here. If you are one, please feel free to proceed).
Anyhow, he had this dream where my back was covered by such a tattoo and decided to recreate it. We weren't even together yet, and he already dreamed about me. That's the nº1 fact that needed to be stated, of course. Well then, the design has been created by him from zero. Ain't it GORGEOUS?!

Have you noticed those fishes' beautiful eyes? Man, I am drop dead.

  3. That is a pretty daring mani to wear to work, but I love it. And yay for two weeks of no work. Hope you have lots of fun and relaxation! And I love the koi art. It's beautiful and your bf is very talented. I understand your hesitation about getting a tattoo. I am the same way. It just feels so permanent... what if I change my mind later? :-)

  4. Oh, that berry color is such a nice polish, I am in love! :)
As for tattoos, I love them, but I hesitate about getting them. I don't know, I feel so restricted like "I can't do this this and this as work" etc when getting tattoos (because if I should get some, then I'd go big! :D ) I totally love the art your bf did, amazing piece!

  5. OKAY. WHO CARES ABOUT THE NAILS AT THIS POINT???!!! THE TATTOO! I am totally FLOORED, blown away! That is an incredible tattoo, the amount of work and skill that must have gone into it. I can only imagine. AND the amount of pain endured. How long did that take to do? WOW!

I agree with you on forever. What is forever? We are all here on borrowed time. My grey hairs are mortality staring back at me every morning. My husband and I wonder who is going to be the stronger of the us to pick the other one up if one of us should fall and break our hip in old age... so depressing! Enjoy youth, and good health, it is priceless.

  6. Lovely color on the nail polish, but... aaah, the artwork on your back! Your boyfriend sure seems to be skilled, because he really did an awesome job on those fishies. I'd definitely say GO FOR IT to put it on your back for real. Some things are just meant to be forever.

  8. Wow, I don't know where to look first, at the tattoo, or at your nails. The tattoo is absolutely amazing, your boyfriend is an artist, I love those Koi fishes, all those small details, especially the eyes, great job :)). I don't know if I would bare the pain to do such a tattoo on my back...and as you said, it is forever...but off course this is just my opinion! Your nails are neat as always, and they match extremely well with the Koi fish tattoo :)
I forgot to write in my first comment, and deleted...I wish you a happy and relaxing vacation!
