Hypnotizing Gold Sparkles

Well hello there :)

I'm tempted to ask how was your weekend, for it feels like a Sunday for me! Today is Worker's Day in Spain, and we celebrate it... not working. I was supposed to work on Monday, but my boss sent me an email while I was 100m away from my workplace telling me I could take my Monday off, and so I did. Very gladly. Almost eagerly.

I decided to celebrate it with a new manicure, so I started with two coats of Rimmel Hypnotize, this gorgeous dark plum I bought in Spitalfields Market in London, for a couple of bucks. Ain't it worth it?!

Up for something blingy I added gold tips with IsaDora Gold Sparkles. Simple, yet somehow uncommon :) Loved it!

So I've been enjoying this the whole day, and I'm sad to say that I'll have to take it off in a couple of hours, in order to put on some worksafe manicure. Sometimes I feel like I disguise myself for work; does that happen to you?

Take care and be good ;)

  2. Yes, absolutely. I have to have conservative nails at work too. So I will wear blues, greens and glitters at home, for a day or two then take it off and put something else on for work. Sometimes I only get to wear a polish for 8 hours! Also, I will come from work and run right into the bathroom to take off a boring mani and start painting my nails with a color I've been dying to wear.

I love the color combo you chose and your tips look great!

    1. I know exactly what you're talking about! I specially miss blues at work...

I guess I was in a defiant mood yesterday for I replaced this mani with a magnetic polish (in a berry colour). I'm slowly sneaking in some funnier manicures. Let's see what happens ;) Will the Inquisition fall over me? I'll update you!

  4. Love the gold tips:) and the plum colour is lovely too. I wear what I want to work. I'm beyond caring what anyone thinks:). Today is a work day and I have on Cult Nails Time Traveller - a lovely dark blue cream and I think it looks fine for work. I wear fairly classic, conservative suits to work in the usual subdued colours and I don't wear much in the way of make up. My only jewellery is my engagement ring, diamond stud earrings and a watch. So I feel like my nail polish is the only hint that I might be something other than a dull, middle aged professional:)

    1. Thanks Kate! I'm in the same situation as you, I'm suited up every day, do not wear extravagant make up nor jewellery, and like to think my manicure is my personal touch in this outfit. But there's a strong protocol pressure in my workplace, mostly because we are in contact with conservative clients all day long. So it's not about what other people (my colleagues) may think about it, it's about transmitting the corporative image. I don't really complain about being that much corseted as regarding my day to day outfit, I knew that was the deal when I signed up for the job. But yeah, I have a parallel life nailpolish-wise during the weekends and holidays ;)

    2. I'm the opposite, I work in finance but I will wear all kinds of bright colours and patterns in my clothes, tights and nails! If you're dressing conservatively, I'd think you could go a bit wild in your manicures...
